Abstract compositions exploring movement, texture, memory, and emotional expression.

About

Between Gesture and Silence

Sara Baruh’s artistic practice unfolds through instinct, rhythm, and material exploration. Working primarily with ink, acrylic, and oil paint, her compositions emerge through layered gestures and subtle tensions between spontaneity and restraint.

Born in Istanbul and living in Geneva since 1980, Baruh’s work reflects a quiet dialogue between Turkish and European sensibilities — balancing movement with stillness, structure with fluidity.

Originally connected to the arts through ballet, she later pursued painting and art history in Geneva, gradually moving from figurative foundations toward a more abstract visual language.

The Creative Process

For Sara Baruh, painting is an open and intuitive process. Each work develops through experimentation and visual rhythm rather than predetermined narratives.
“Even though I don’t always know what the outcome will be, the creative process is exciting and colorful.”
